Notes: Sets included TEC/ANA coin on cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half and other TEC/ANA design on cent

Notes: Each year the ANA’s WFOM has a theme for the coin show. For 2020 it was “Women in Numismatics”. The TEC coins design features Dottie Dow, “The Elongated Coin Gal”  Even though most of her pictures typically showed her wearing her hair up in a beehive hairdo, her 1st handshake elongated showed her with her hair down. This was a play on the original DD coin, combined with her leading the TEC Owl.
The 2020 show was supposed to take place in Pittsburgh, but it ended up canceled due to COVID-19. This coin represents the show that never happened, with the Pittsburgh skyline. We start working on show coins early in the year so this was already in the works when the show was canceled.  

Notes: Of the WFOM ANA elongated, designer Paul Conner said, “I wanted to make a more historic looking elongated, so I treated the wording at the top similar to a lot of the lettering style on the posters and materials for the 1922 World’s Fair in Chicago. For “CHICAGO” I wanted to highlight the city’s entertainment history, so I added a bit of a theatrical look to it with the “lights”.
Of the WFOM TEC elongated, designer Paul Conner said, “I used the same border as I did for the ANA version to tie them together. Then I did a bit of a play on real U.S. coins. On many U.S coins we have the country’s national bird, the bald eagle. I created the owl to have a similar look to the eagle on the back of a Kennedy Half Dollar. I Also added stars around the inside of the border, another common element on U.S. coins”
