A Note On The October TEC Newsletter

There was a delay in printing the newsletter this month, so things are running a bit behind.  Bob Frazier, who packs and mails the issues, was told by the printer they would be ready today, but has not gotten word that they are ready yet.  TEC is using a local print shop and he will contact them in the morning to get an updated ETA.  Once Bob receives the printed newsletters it will take him a couple days to get things ready to get mailed out.  The digital members mailings are ready to go.  Assuming no postal delays, you should hopefully receive your copy within the next week!  If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to either Bob Frazier or Tyler Tyson.

The Third Online TEC Auction is around the corner!

Register today to attend the online auction! We will hold our third online auction via Zoom on Saturday, February 4, 2023, starting at 4:00 pm Eastern (which is 3:00 pm Central, 2:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Pacific, and so on). If you want to attend, please email Terri now. We will email the Zoom link to ONLY those members who have registered to attend.

Where is the Zoom link for the auction? If you have registered, we will email you the Zoom link on the day before the auction, Friday, February 3, 2023. That way, it will be close to the top of your inbox when you go looking for it.

Will there be time to chat with other collectors? Yes, we will start the Zoom meeting half an hour before the scheduled start of the auction and leave the meeting going after the auction for anyone who wants to chat.

How can we be ready to go at the auction? Excellent question! Here is the TEC Auction Catalog.  Be sure to check out the first page, which outlines how we’re going to conduct the auction via Zoom.

Meanwhile, we hope you and yours are safe and well.  And, as always, thank you for being a TEC member.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, fellow elongated coin collectors!

As we say goodbye to 2022 and welcome 2023, it’s a great time to reflect on the past year and look ahead to the new one. As collectors, we’ve probably had our share of ups and downs, but one thing that never changes is our love for elongated coins.

Whether we’re adding to our collections, trading with other collectors, or simply admiring our favorite pieces, there’s something special about these unique and often historical items.

As we start the new year, it’s a great time to set some goals for our collections.  Maybe you want to focus on a specific theme or time period, or perhaps you want to track down a particularly elusive coin. Whatever your goals may be, it’s always fun to have something to work towards.

So here’s to a new year, filled with opportunities to add to our collections and share our love of elongated coins with others. Happy collecting!

Save the Date

TEC will be hosting it’s third-ever online auction on Saturday February 4, 2023 at 4PM Eastern Time.  A catalog with photos and descriptions will be available in advance.

One notable item, donated by Ben Gastfriend, is a first edition of Yesterday’s Elongateds with the original dust jacket!

Watch for more details to come with the January newsletter.
